Meet the Artist

I’m Olga DeShields, a muralist, public artist, and sign painter based in Snow Hill, MD. With over 12 years of experience, I create vibrant, hand-painted murals and signs inspired by nature, heritage, and a love for storytelling. My work blends craftsmanship and color to spark joy, foster pride of place, and bring beauty to public spaces. I’m always open to meaningful collaboration and connecting with artists around the world.

The Process

1. Inquiry & Discovery

Start by filling out the [quote form] to tell me about your project — wall size, surface texture, your vision, and timeline. I’ll follow up to schedule a quick call or a site visit if needed.

2. Design & Proposal

After our initial conversation, a $500 design deposit allows me to begin the creative process. I’ll provide a concept with up to two rounds of revisions, tailored to your goals and space. If applicable, this stage may also include research into historical or local context, and opportunities for team or community input.

3. Final Quote, Contract & Scheduling

Once the design is approved, I’ll provide a quote based on the project’s complexity, scale, and surface conditions. If any surface preparation is needed, it can either be handled by the client or included in the quote as a separate service. A signed contract and a 50% booking deposit secure your spot on the calendar. I carry professional liability insurance for peace of mind on every project.

4. Painting & Execution

I bring the artwork to life on-site, handling all materials, setup, and cleanup. I have experience working on lifts, ladders, and scaffolding — however, any necessary equipment (such as lifts or specialty ladders) must be provided by the client. The remaining balance is due upon completion.

5. Enjoy & Maintain

You’ll have a custom, hand-painted mural designed to elevate your space and last for years to come. I’ll also share care and maintenance tips if needed. And of course, I love seeing and sharing photos of the finished piece!
